Corporate Tennis Tournament Rules & Regulations
1. Eligibility
- The tournament is open to staff (contract or permanent) and brand ambassadors of businesses duly registered in Ghana.
- Players must be amateur or social tennis players.
- Professional players, coaches, or trainers cannot compete but can serve as team captains or coaches.
- All players must be officially registered through the tournament website or any other channel provided by the organisers.
2. Categories
The categories for the tournament are as follows:
- Mens Singles
- Womens Singles
- Mens Doubles
- Women’s Doubles
- Mixed Doubles
- CEOs Challenge
3. Player Registration
- Singles: A company may register up to two (2) players per category and pay the fee of two hundred Ghana Cedis (GHC 200) per player.
- Doubles: A company may register only 1 team (2 players) per category and pay the fee of two hundred Ghana Cedis (GHC 200) per team.
- A player cannot represent more than one company.
- A player representing a company he/she does not work for will be disqualified.
- A registration is only complete after the payment of the prescribed fee.
- Registration fee, once paid is not refundable.
- Registration closes at midnight on the 28th of September, 2025.
4. Tournament Format
- Knockout (straight draw) format in all categories.
- Draws will be conducted prior to the start of the tournament and communicated to teams.
5. Match Scoring System
- Preliminary Rounds (before quarterfinals) shall be a first to 9 games with a 7-point tie-break at 8-8 to decide the winner.
- Quarterfinals & Semi-finals shall be a best of 3 sets, with the final set being a 10-point super tie break will decide the match.
- Finals: shall be a best of 3 sets. With a 7-point tie break to decide a set at 6-6.
6. Match Rules
- Standard ITF Rules of Tennis will apply, except where modified by this document.
- Warm-up time: maximum 5 minutes.
- Players must report to the match desk 15 minutes before scheduled time.
- A walkover will be declared if a team fails to report 15 minutes after the match call.
- The umpire’s decision is final.
7. Substitution & Team Management
- Substitutions may only be made before the start of a match, with the referee’s approval.
- No mid-match substitutions are allowed.
- Captains are responsible for ensuring their players are fit and ready.
8. Conduct & Fair Play
- Players must uphold good sportsmanship and respect towards opponents, officials, and spectators.
- Any form of abuse (verbal or physical), racket abuse, or misconduct may result in penalties up to disqualification.
- Alcohol or banned substances are strictly prohibited on court.
- Open cups/glasses are strictly prohibited on courts. Only bottled or capped drinks are allowed.
9. Attire & Equipment
- Players must wear appropriate tennis attire (corporate-branded kits are encouraged).
- Non-marking shoes are mandatory.
- Balls will be provided by the organisers. Players supply their own rackets.
10. Scheduling & Venue Rules
- Matches will be played at the Ghana Tennis Club, Adabraka, on Weekdays, from 5 PM to 8 PM and on weekends from 7 AM – 8 PM.
- Finals scheduling may differ and will be communicated in advance.
- The Organising Committee may reschedule matches due to weather or unforeseen events.
11. Dispute Resolution
- Any protest must be filed with the Tournament Referee immediately after the match in question.
- The Organising Committee’s decision is final.
12. Prizes & Recognition
- Winners and runners-up will receive trophies.
- Certificates of participation will be given to all registered players.
- Subject to availability, sponsors’ souvenirs will be presented to winners.
13. Liability
- Participation is at the players’ own risk.
- Organisers, sponsors, and the venue are not liable for injuries, accidents, or loss of property.
- Medical support will be available onsite during play and emergencies will be treated at the nearest medical facility at the cost of the player.
